「童年在非洲尼日長大，看見父母用自然耕種法將沙漠變成綠洲，瑞典學者葛明依相信台灣濕潤的土地，充滿未被利用的野生植物，可保護生態環境和人類健康。」

零灌溉  養出夢想綠洲
世界上九六％的可食植物沒被利用！我們該如何運用「自然農法」，找出祕密食糧，拯救失衡生態？
      看著眼前光禿禿的阿里山，來自瑞典的葛明伊（Miriam Garvi），眼淚幾乎奪眶而出。放眼望去的檳榔樹，讓她直說，「我想哭！」因為，原先保護地皮的野生植物，被經濟作物取代，失衡的生態成為不定時炸彈。
      二月來台做學術研究，葛明伊過去六個月馬不停蹄、上山下海，走遍桃園、新竹、台東各地農場。曾在尼日推廣自然耕種農法的她，想要實地調查，了解哪些農作物能在台灣這個海島國家自然生長。因為全世界有七萬八千種可食用植物，但只有三千種被使用。她相信台灣一定有不需人類照顧的野生植物，等待我們去發現。

Dr. Miriam Garvi is currently Assistant Professor at the National Taiwan University, Global MBA Program, specializing in the domains of leadership and sustainability. With her dual background and experience of the non-profit and the business sectors, she is dedicated to bringing forth alternative ways of thinking about business, innovation, eco- and sustainability that will allow for longstanding visions and pioneering commitment, stimulating a good interplay between man and nature.

Miriam Garvi obtained her M.Sc. in international business from the Gothenburg School of Economics and International Law in Sweden, and her Ph.D. in business administration from the Jönköping International Business School. She is a multilingual globetrotter who has lived and worked in various countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Miriam Garvi is the founder and director of the Vision Pioneers network, which brings together people across borders who are dedicated to seeing helpful and useful ideas come to life in such a way that they will allow both man and nature to thrive. She is also on the board of the Eden Foundation in Niger, Africa, which provides an alternative way of thinking about biodiversity and agriculture that has transformed the lives in many rural communities across an arid sub-Saharan region in West Africa.
